While he focused on integrity in everyday life, the principles he taught can also apply to you as a BYU-Pathway Worldwide student.
While at BYU-Pathway, you are expected to understand and, in your online degree program, live the honor code. 2

See 鈥Student Honor Code鈥 for more information.
A central part of this code is academic honesty 鈥 avoiding things like plagiarism and cheating, which can have a long-term negative impact on your education and professional life.

What is integrity?

Elder Gerard said, 鈥淚ntegrity means we do not lower our standards or behavior to impress or to be accepted by others.鈥 We 鈥渄o what is right, let the consequence follow.鈥 3

As we are true to God, others, and ourselves in our studies and in our communities, we will become more like the Savior and be more trusted by others.

Being true to God

Others will be drawn to your light as you live with integrity
In the Bible, we read about the prophet Daniel, who was thrown into a den of lions for refusing to deny his beliefs. However, Daniel was delivered 鈥渂ecause he believed in God鈥 and stayed true to Jesus Christ. 4

As a BYU-Pathway student, you can be a light of truth to those around you. They will be drawn to the light that comes from living with integrity. 鈥淎cting with integrity builds faith and trust and reassures others that we seek only to do the will of the Lord.鈥 6

This integrity will bless you in your studies, career, and especially your relationships with others.

Living with integrity will help you recognize your divine potential

You are a child of God with a divine identity. When you are true to that destiny, you will grow in integrity and become more like the person God knows you can be.

Federico Reiecholz from Argentina started seeing a difference in his life, goals, and perspective when he enrolled in BYU-Pathway. "I learned that as I choose God everything gets better and becomes easier,鈥 he said. 鈥淏YU-Pathway has changed my life. Now I can see with another perspective my divine potential.鈥

Living the principles of the honor code 鈥 especially 鈥渂e honest鈥 鈥 will give you a new perspective and help you change, just like Federico did.

Be honest

As you have integrity in your BYU-Pathway coursework, workplace, community, and relationships, you will be trusted by those around you. Most importantly, you will feel God鈥檚 trust in you 鈥渂ecause of the integrity of your heart.鈥 7
