      Frequently Asked Questions
I need a job. How do I get one?
BYU-Pathway works with employers who want to offer jobs to current students and alumni. However, there are limited opportunities. To see available options or sign up for job alerts, please select the Find a Job tab above, then select I鈥檓 still enrolled. Also, look for opportunities on local employment websites in your area.
I applied for a job but didn鈥檛 get an interview. Why?
BYU-Pathway does not influence any company鈥檚 hiring decisions. If you didn鈥檛 get an interview or get hired, consider improving your resume and learning from other tips in the Resources tab above on this page.
How can I get a job without any work experience?
Experience can be anything that demonstrates your skills and abilities. Have you had a Church calling or done any volunteer work? If you haven鈥檛 had a formal job, consider listing your experience on your resume. This could be anything from skills you've gained or developed to ways you've demonstrated leadership. Review resume and interviewing tips in the Resources tab above.
I created a Tier 1 job profile on your website. When will I be contacted?
Job opportunities are limited to employers who have expressed interest in hiring BYU-Pathway students. You will be contacted only if an employer reviews your profile and wants to interview you. They will contact you via the preferred contact method you listed in your profile. BYU-Pathway does not influence hiring decisions, and there is no guarantee you will be hired after completing a job profile.
How will I know what my pay will be?
Wages are set by employers and are based on many factors, such as experience and skill level. BYU-Pathway does not set pay rates for employers. However, we do encourage employers who partner with BYU-Pathway to pay employees a living wage that will allow students to support themselves and their families, as well as have time to serve in the Church and fulfill other personal responsibilities.
